When coming home to Steamboat, the owners wanted their space to feel playful and inviting. They are a young family with little ones, active and busy through the summer, and needed a fresh feel that would give off as much energy as they do. They love to entertain, host family and friends and share that magical Steamboat experience with their guests from the inside out.

With four bedrooms, three baths and 2,500 square feet to work with, our design team was eager to create a more inspiring space and amp up the ambiance that our clients were craving. 

The design was driven by one of our first selections in the dining room; a contemporary Kelly Wearstler wallpaper, which appeased our client’s affinity for all shades of turquoise. To compliment the striking graphics, we selected a bold orange barn door for the bunkroom. These two design selections set the tone for an eclectic, modern, and colorful space.  

We incorporated textured wallpapers and nature inspired wall murals into each bedroom, using the colors as an anchor to select furniture and fabrics that would keep each room unique and cohesive. We opted against artwork in the main living spaces so as not to detract from the stunning wallpaper and beautiful views, both visually stimulating on their own. 

Working with color, pattern, and texture are all elements that inspire us as designers, so we were thrilled that our clients were open to having some fun in these areas and trusting us to bring it all together. The owners are ecstatic with the look and feel of their new space and finally feel like they are at home.
